Josef Bachler was born in 1914 in Vienna, Austria, and lived in the House of Artists in Gugging until his death in 1979. The approach of his drawings was very determined: he cut through the white of the sheet with a few lines, sketching a woman, a man or an animal. His works can be found in the Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, Austria, among others.
